This was a steep climb and it was very cold and extremely windy. We were both ready to give up on one or two occasions but were able to talk each other into continuing, and it became easier when the summit's huge cairn came into view. There was a lot of ice on the ground and it was slippy in parts. We made the summit in 1hr 45mins,with a lot of rests! We came back down in about 45 mins by which time there were a whole crowd of people juststarting out! Tiring, but worth it and a good start to the New Year.
