My Hillwalking Diary

Since I climbed my first Munro in September 2010 I have been bitten by the hillwalking bug (and also quite a few midgies!).I have decided to record all my walks in this blog so I can record my progress .

17th March Milngavie to Dumgoyne, and back again!

It was a lovely day, and it felt very exciting to be setting off from Milngavie, I was thinking about how we'll feel on 1st April, when there will be no turning back! A forest walk through Mugdock Park led us onto some wonderful views as we left Carbeth heading toward Dumgoyne. It was a busy path too. We stopped at the Beech Tree Inn where we were duly robbed of £4.60 for two cans of juice and 2 packets of crisps. The only thing missing from the scenario was Dick Turpin and his horse Black Bess. The "Walkers" picnic area.......... which consisted of a very dangerous broken table with exposed rusty nails and 1 bench was not a pleasant place to be so it is not a place I will recommend and an outraged Trip Advisor review has been posted to warn others off too.
So the countdown is on. One more walk on sunday with the group then we are off! West Highland Way here we come...
